Long-stay
visa
A
long-stay visa with a period of validity of up to six months
entitling the holder to stay for up to 180 days shall be issued to
an alien who wishes to settle durably or permanently in the Republic
of Bulgaria on any of the grounds under Articles 24, 24a, Article
25, 33a and 33d of the Aliens in the Republic of Bulgaria Act.
A
long-stay visa with a period of validity of up to one year and
entitling the holder to stay for up to 360 days may be issued to an
alien who:
1.
conducts scientific research;
2.
is a student under programmes of study for up to one academic year;
3.
is a specialization trainee or an intern;
4.
has been posted by a foreign employer for performance of specific
tasks related to control and coordination of the implementation of a
tourist services contract;
5.
has been posted by a foreign employer who or which carries out
activity as an investor within the meaning given by the Investment
Promotion Act, for the exercise of control over the implementation
of the investment project.
An
application for a long-stay visa shall be submitted solely to the
diplomatic and consular
missions at the domicile of the applicant or at such missions and
posts which are accredited to the State of permanent residence of
the applicant.
The
persons referred to in paragraph
above, who lawfully reside in any third State
other than the State where they are domiciled, may, as an exception,
submit an application in that third country after providing viable
reasons for this and provided their return to the country where they
are domiciled is guaranteed.
Application
papers:

Passport,
valid at least 3 months after the expiration of the visa
· Two
copies of
the passport – page
with photo, page with expiration date, pages with valid visas
· Two
colour
photographs,
passport size
·
Copy of
the Romanian residence card, if any
·
originals of documents and two sets of
copies thereof, supporting the request for a long-stay visa
according to the procedure established by the Aliens in the Republic
of Bulgaria Act and the Regulations for Application of the said Act,
and proving possession of sufficient funds to cover the subsistence
and accommodation costs;
·
an insurance policy and a copy
thereof, issued by an insurance company licensed to carry on
insurance business within the territory of the European Union, with
a minimum cover of EUR 30,000, covering all costs of repatriation
and of emergency medical care and emergency hospital treatment for
the period of stay as specified in the visa.

Two
Application
forms
The
visa application shall be submitted not earlier than three months
and not later than three days prior to the date of the planned trip,
either personally or through
an authorized representative.
Taxes
and periods of issue

Ordinary
visa – issued in a week - 60 ĺuros, paid on application
·
Urgent
visa
– issued
in 3 working days - 120 euros, paid on application
The
taxes are NOT refundable in case the visa is not approved.
The
visa section is open from 10 to 12 a.m. on working days
